In partnership with The MasterCard Foundation, Save the Children is building on its proven track record of delivering quality programming, generating learning and evidence, and building on best practices to allow for replication of the Youth in Action model in other contexts and countries where Save the Children works.
Save the Children implements Youth in Action Program in collaboration with national civil society organizations in the five countries. A total of 13 national partners deliver the program with continuous technical support and leadership from Save the Children, with the ultimate goal of empowering both the young people participating in the program and the partners helping to deliver it.

To learn more about The MasterCard Foundation, please visit: In addition, Youth in Action is working with two international learning partners: Search Institute and Souktel

Search Institute is using the tested Development Assets Profile, with a large sample of youth across all five countries, to measure and track the ways that program participation affects their internal and external assets. Using proven assessment tools across this large population of youth is innovative, and helps to build evidence for market-oriented interventions with young people.

Souktel is working to pilot the use of text messaging technology in rural, African contexts to strengthen young people’s linkages to markets and market information. Souktel’s role has evolved to support the development of the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning system of the program.

Moreover, research fellows from African and North American academic institutions work with Youth in Action to measure, document, conduct tracer studies, and analyze the project’s impact and lessons learned.

Together, these partners work with Save the Children to build evidence of successful models and approaches for scale, and to support learning and economic opportunities for youth, especially in Africa’s agricultural sector.
